White Row: Decades of Supplying Quality Bread

We have been lucky enough to work alongside White Row since 2006. When they first opened, they had plans for an in-store bakery, but when those plans changed, they turned to us as the next best thing. Since then, we’ve built a great relationship with Heather and Steve — delivering daily and helping them serve their community with quality bread.

White Row has always showcased our bread beautifully, keeping it well-presented and aligned with our branding, making it feel like a natural part of their offering. Over the years, we’ve also enjoyed being part of their events, sharing samples of our seasonal products, and connecting with their customers. At one point we worked together to make a loaf made from the wheat grown on their farm - taking locally sourced ingredients to the next level.

“Hobbs House is reliable, easy to work with, and makes us feel valued as a customer—which isn’t always a given in this industry! Their seasonal treats are also a real highlight. Their Easter biscuits are some of the best out there, and when it comes to mince pies, we can never stock enough. Our customers love them.” Claire Lort, Farm Shop Manager

Q&A with White Row owner Heather Tucker

Q: Why do you choose Hobbs House Bakery?

A: We’ve been working with Hobbs House Bakery for nearly 20 years, which says a lot about the quality of their bread and the people behind it. If you know us, you’ll know we value great products and good working relationships—Hobbs House delivers on both.

There’s something special about a family-run business. Maybe it’s the attention to detail, the care that goes into every loaf, or simply being able to pick up the phone and speak to a real person when you need them (and not just any person—a lovely, helpful one at that).

Beyond the quality of their bread, I’ve always appreciated that Hobbs is a family-run bakery. Their team—staff and drivers alike—are great to work with, and communication is always straightforward.

Q: Which loaf is your top seller?

A: We go through over 800 loaves a week in total, which speaks for itself. But, our top seller would be the Organic 5 Seed Spelt—a solid favourite for good reason. Hobbs House bread is a firm fixture in our farm shop, deli, and café.

Q: What is your favourite Hobbs House Bakery product?

A: It has to be the Sherston—a proper classic.

Q: What makes Hobbs House Bakery stand out?

A: One thing we enjoy about working with Hobbs House is the opportunity to try their new products before they hit the shelves. It’s a great way to keep things fresh—and, of course, we don’t mind the taste testing! If you haven’t tried a loaf from Hobbs House yet, we’d recommend it. With nearly two decades of partnership behind us, we know good bread when we see it.
