At Hobbs House Bakery we believe there are some things you can't rush. All our bread and confectionery is made by hand with true care and attention, many using 'overnight' fermentation for a deeper flavour and a better rise.
Our not-so-secret weapon is our 68 year old Sourdough Starter which we've been nourishing with flour and water every day for all of these years. In return our little Starter has helped us create countless true sourdough loaves and been shared with home bakers all over the country.
This year we are celebrating 100 Years of Baking, thinking back to when our great grandparents started it all in the 1920's.
We still use many of those classic recipes and techniques in our baking today, along with innovation from our skilled bakery team.
It's our mantra to be the best for our people, community and environment for generations to come. That's why in 2020, we became a B Corp.
To become a certified B Corp, we needed to pass rigorous testing to prove we meet the highest standards of social and environmental performance, accountability, and transparency.
